Step Aside, Project Runway!

This week, I’ve joined forces with my friend Mae Badiyan to merge the worlds of art and fashion.  Mae writes a life and style blog, and she is some kind of wizard when it comes to fashion and styling.  She could even make calf length, paisley patterned gym culottes look cool!  You got a 1980′s pink puff sleeve prom dress lying around that you’re not sure what to do with?  Let Mae could show those puff sleeves who’s boss!

I asked Mae how she would “wear” a piece of my art.  Here is what she came up with to transform my art into a high fashion look!  Be sure to read on to see Mae’s take on art and fashion.
Hi everyone! My name is Mae and I write a life & style blog. I’m thrilled to be partnering with Misha to transform one of her stunning works of art into a outfit ensemble.  I believe that all aspects of the design world are interconnected and it’s easy to see the influences of art in fashion and vice versa.  From home decor to a blouse to a pair of earrings to a sculpture…great style is all around us!
Here’s a look at the look I put together based on Misha’s painting.  Big thanks and love to Misha for this fun collaboration, y’all are welcome to stop by and say hello to me anytime!

Little Chirpy Guy

I’m crazy for very tiny, chubby birds.  There are lots of them in my neighborhood and they hop around the yard in a festive way every morning.  Because I am usually up far earlier than I would like to be, plus I’m forced by my tyrannical toddler to go outside into freezing temperatures, these little birds really bring me solace and joy.

I put one of these little guys into a recent piece of art, he is available as a print in my etsy store.
